November 14, 2009-The Utah Jazz were playing the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight without their best player, point guard Deron Williams, who was back in Salt Lake City to deal with a medical issue with his daughter.
Even being short handed, the Utah Jazz almost got a win against LeBron and the Cavs. But they ended up losing their 6th straight game at Quicken Loans Arena 107-103. With the score at 106-103 in favor of the Cavaliers, Utah Jazz center Mehmet Okur attempted a 3-pont shot with 3.3 seconds left but it didn't go down for Utah. Then LeBron James was fouled, he hit one of two free throws, and that was your ball game.
Utah rookie Eric Maynor played a solid game in the absence of Deron Williams. Maynor scored 24 points with 4 assists and hit some big shots for the Jazz. Utah forward Carlos Boozer had a good game with 25 points and 12 rebounds.
LeBron James didn't light it up at all as he "only" had 21 points but he had some help from his teammates. J.J. Hickson scored 20 points and added 21 in the Cavaliers' win over Utah. The Cavs were playing short handed as well. Shaquille O'Neal did not play for Cleveland tonight due to a strained shoulder. The Cleveland Cavaliers are now 7-3 on the young 2009-10 NBA season.
